Prep for Autumn wellness


As we head into the season of pumpkin lattes and spooky goings on. What can you do to prepare for all things that go bump in the night or for tales of the unexpected!









 

#1 Avoid those sweet treats

As the weather gets nippy, we get snacky and sweets at Halloween along with hot chocolates and sweetened lattes all increase our blood sugar levels above what is healthy.

 

A recent study looking at immune system function indicates a link between hyperglycaemia (excess blood sugar) and weakened immune cell function.

So ditch the sugar to stay fighting fit this Autumn.

Instead opt for broths, soups and stews to get your cosy fix.

Slow cooked meats and veggies provide us with easily absorbed proteins and nutrients essential for cell repair and optimum function.




#2 Stock up on cupboard home hospital essentials

My essentials are:

Chicken Bone broth- organic is best and I have sourced one that has ginger and greens in it for extra immune punch. Keep 2 pouches in the freezer and defrost and warm up in a pan if you have the flu.

  • Milk Thistle (liver detox and overindulgence saviour)

  • Vitamin C with bioflavonoids for as soon as that illness takes hold

  • Echinacea for immune boosts when needed.

  • Colloidal silver spray for infection busting assistance. Think bad throats and cleaning wounds at home.

  • Calendula also for cleaning wounds and assisting healing. Weleda or I have a good range of these in creams, sprays or drops.

  • Tissue salts especially Ferrum Phos for the first signs of infection/inflammation
